Millwall 0 Reading 3 Championship game 28 31/1/14 att: 11,174

It takes time to build so hopefully just a hiccup

With Trotter and Keogh now off to pastures new and with Lowry suspended and new signing Shaun Williams starting we had nothing to offer in the way of at least giving us a point. Bywater made yet another mistake as he fumbled a catch which gifted Reading their first goal. We did have chances and Morison come close to finding the net but like some of his performances particularly his recent this season he puts in a good shift but he just can't score.

In the 70th minute something very strange happened, with us still 1-0 down Ian Holloway took off Mark Beevers moved new signing Shaun Williams from midfield into Beevers position remembering this was after he had already subbed midfielder Josh Wright for a striker. We now had five strikers on the pitch, hardly any midfield and new signing Williams from league one making his full début being moved from midfield to centre back. This seemed a crazy decision at the time and my fears quickly turned into reality as Reading scored two quick goals and the game was up.

Ian Holloway  apologies and states that he won't be doing that again. I'm clad to hear that because that seemed bonkers.
