I SUPPOSE SOME OF US BETTER TURN UP
We keep rolling on, this clash of the lower leagues. A slightly re-arranged Lions take to the field with Jimmy Abdou and Ed Upson missing from the middle, 28 day emergency loan signing George Saville started and so did Lee Martin. Shaun Cummings started instead of Carlos Edwards and absent Bryon Webster was replaced by J.Martin. Jack Powell started in midfield and with all these defence and midfield changes we didn't really get going first half but we had 3 or 4 decent chances. Their keeper saved a few from Steve Morison and Aiden O'Brien hit the woodwork and although I thought we didn't sparkle we wasn't much troubled in defence.
WHAT IS IT WITH THIS WEARING PINK?
The Johnstone Paint Trophy don't draw them in, "perhaps' they may turn up if we make the Wembley Final
Second half started like the first but it kicked into life when we unleashed our substitutions, Fred Onyedinma(60 mins) and Ben Thompson(60) and that done the trick we went into another gear and and had a bit more zip in around the Northampton defence. Steve Morison was kept out once again as the keeper saved but it wasn't long till we were 1-0 up. Aiden O'Brien picked up the ball and run in from the left, shook off two defenders and beat the keeper with a well drilled shot. A couple of minutes later Steve Morison still looking sharp and putting in a good shift picked up the ball from Lee Gregory and returned it back to him to chest in from a few yards out. Easy goal really.
In the end a professional job and we appreciate it
