FA CUP AND WE ARE UP AND RUNNING
Skipper Tony Craig out injured and Steve Morison wears the armband
Pre-match thoughts, interesting. Never played these before etc. We should do them but then it is the FA Cup ,anything can happen. I am a little bit worried regarding how many of our important players are not playing due to injuries and also loan players who are not because their own clubs do not want them cup tied , but I am sure we still have enough to "do them".
164 of them turned up for the biggest game in their history
The dedicated 164
David Forde started and he done ok overall but he still managed to have one of his scary moments when he come for a ball that wasn't really his and you heard a few groans.
The first half finished 0-0 and although it was a half that did not have us on the edge of our seat. Fylde are a decent side and played a steady game and were a threat but we handled them ok. We was lacking a cutting edge a fizz all over the park and the subbing of non-effective Paris Cowan-Hall who was making his full home debut and bringing on League 1 player of the month Aiden O'Brien done the job. He contributed to upping the tempo and it didn't take to long before he buried our first when he picked up the ball and run in towards the Fylde goal and oozing quality he beat the keeper low to his right. It wasn't long after that and Lee Gregory was giving it ago and scoring when he picked up a ball from Shaun Williams and then went inside and outside of the player at right back and clinically stroked home our second of the game. 2-0 and cruising, or so I thought. AFC Fylde had a goal in them and we being Millwall let them score it as they cut in from the left and after Bryon Webster halted the move their player Whittle managed to shoot towards the fire post and the ball was in.
Aiden O'Brien was there again being busy and this time feeding Steve Morison who moved in towards goal and with the class of a proven striker masterfully side footed the ball past the Fylde keeper. Game over, I wonder who we got in the next round?
Millwall: Forde, Cummings, Webster, Beevers, J.Martin, Cowan-Hall(O'Brien 45), Thompson, Williams (Powell 90), Onyedinma, Morison (Pavey 90), Gregory
subs not used L.Martin, Arrcher, Romeo, Wood
Goals: O'Brien 54, Gregory 60, Morison 88
AFC Fylde: Urwin, Hughes, Hanningan, Collins, Whittle, Charles, Wilson(Finley 77), Baker, Hughes(Liloyd-McGoldrick 83), Rowe, Blinkhorn
subs not used, Hinchliffe, Sumner, Barnes, Hardy, Langley

The ref was driving me nuts, defo anti-Milwall
_________
The next day
The 2nd round draw and we pull Wycombe Wanderers at our place, that's winnable
