Millwall 2013/14 pre-season, a few updates

24/6/2013

Neil Harris is back at the Den, but this time as a coach. Steve Lomas has shown nous to get Bomber back at the Den as he knows that he will be held in high esteem by the players and by us the supporters. This news has made my day.
__________

Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater signs a two year contract and joins the Lions. The ex West Ham, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday keeper seems thrilled to join the Lions and he states that he wants to do well and he thinks that he has got to prove himself even more as like Steve Lomas he has West Ham ties.

After turning down a sponsorship deal with a pay day loan company Millwall have gave the opportunity for a charity, Prostate Cancer UK to have their logo on the new teams shirts for the 2013-14 season. Millwall say that this will increase awareness of the disease and make a few bob for the charity and the Millwall Community Trust. I think this is a unselfish thing to do and I am well proud of the club for doing this.

Steve Morison is back at the Den after securing a full season loan from Leeds United. Is this another good move by Steve Lomas? It could well be as another player who knows how Millwall tick is back in the fold. Steve Morison has gave me many happy moments as he banged in 35 goals in 83 league games and I look forward to him banging in a few more.

Lee Martin joins the Lions

I don't know anything about this ex Ipswich winger Lee Martin apart from he joins the Lions on a free transfer and signs a one year contract. We are certainly getting the players in and with ex Millwall loan player Richard Chaplow in the pipeline things are getting interesting. We will have to see if we manage to sign him....more to follow.

Richard Chaplow signs and he is back at the Den. Steve Lomas is adding players almost weekly and the Lions are looking better and better on paper and we could be a useful side come the start of the season. I can't wait, I'm hopeful but I am never certain.

19/7/13
Nicky Bailey moves from Middlesbrough to Millwall on a free transfer and signs a two year deal,

28/7/13 Saturday afternoon,a hot day and the opposition Rayo Vallecano get stuck in traffic

Paul Robinson starts his testimonial game plays the whole of the first half and does alright. It was magic seeing him back on the pitch and hopefully he can chisel away at his match fitness, look sharp and work his way back to playing Saturdays and Tuesday nights.

Millwall 1 Rayo 0   att: 5,138   Morison scores

A decent turnout and the Lions secure a win when Steve Morison sinks a penalty after it was given when we all including the ref spotted a blatant hand ball well inside the oppositions box. Steve Morison also gets booked after what appears to be his frustration with the tactics of the Spanish side who seemed to be constantly falling to the floor. I think we gave a good account of our selves and at times made this Spanish top flight side look very average and they hardly troubled us throughout the match.
